Description of the project
HUT BIT Research Centre (former TAI Research Centre) made a pre study in 2003 for the Development Centre of Salo Region about the industry and research collaboration within the Salo region. The work was divided into two phases, the 1st phase ended at the end of April 2003 and the 2nd phase at the end of August 2003. Based on concrete actions suggested in the reports of the study the Development Centre of of Salo Region decided to start the Innolab concept on 15th October 2003.
Innolab
The overall target of the Innolab concept is to improve the regional development by strengthening active collaboration between academy and industry and thus upraise the level of competences and facilitate the creation of innovations.
- Innolab is a new operation model and conceptual platform for regional and local innovation environment
- Innolab promotes the transfer of new technologies and applications and high competences to enterprises by inviting experts and firms together and by recognizing development goals.
- Innolab itself is a social innovation, which invites different actors jointly together and improves their collaboration by developing social capital and trust
Innolab connects social and technical innovations to reach the regional development goals by developing the innovation environment and capability of the region.
