Our research focus
The research framework of the Value Networks Research Group is based in the first place on understanding of value creation and different capital assets related to it. In addition to traditional economic assets there are also other important assets like social capital, which plays a major role in network relationships and operations. Understanding of value creation is further on the basis for successful value capture and value delivery. The increasing uncertainty in business environments makes the business management more challenging for enterprises. How value is created and shared safely and equitably in pursuance of managing the uncertainties are the basic issues in value collaboration networks. The roles of information and knowledge management as well are getting strategic factors in successful network businesses.
The value model is a value based approach, where economic modeling is an essential part of it. The value model describes the different elements important in our research. The organizations have to recognize and understand also the value networks of their customers and other stakeholders in order to more effectively participate in the value creation processes of their own and their customers businesses. The new operation model presumes also the development of capabilities to support better the networked operations. The missing capabilities have to be acquired by collaboration in the network. At the same time the organizations have to develop their value transition processes by developing their visions, strategies and business models as an integral part of the network.
